Undertone returns with New Single ‘A Date Song’ Where Amapiano, EDM and House music Collide

What do you get when Amapiano, EDM and House meet in a South African studio? You have a date. Ngiyajola! A Date Song.
Translated simply, Ngiyajola means “I’m dating.” This vibrant “date song” infuses happy Zulu lyrics into an electrifying EDM framework, anchored by a rolling piano melody, cutting “stabby” synths, and expertly placed percussion. Over its crisp three-minute runtime, three distinctive bass riffs surface at just the right moments, guiding listeners through an immersive genre-blending journey. The track feels at home across club scenes—from Amapiano lounges to EDM dancefloors and deep House spaces.
Like his previous work, A Date Song showcases Undertone’s signature approach: layering emotive storytelling within high-energy production. It’s a celebration of love, culture, and rhythm.
Following the international success of Kind of Love and the emotive Falling, Undertone continues to push boundaries with his unique mix of cultural flavour and festival energy
The song was featured on Apple Music South Africa’s New Music Daily playlist on release date – 15 August.
